In keeping with the announcement from the Chancellor and the campus closure, Information Technology will be closed with the campus from March 20, 2020 - March 29, 2020. This will include both Call Center and Walk-In locations. Information Technology is currently expecting to reopen Monday, March 30th. 

We have self-help articles in our Knowledge Base to many common topics and recent changes, including using the VPN and remote services for our employees, and many account issues for our students. We apologize for any inconvenience. Be well and stay healthy.

If you have clicked the link and the page loaded (we blocked the link fairly early), please contact the Help Desk at 417-447-7548 to reset your password and perform a virus scan. If you clicked the link but got a notification the link was blocked, just delete the email - no further action needs to be taken.

We are in the process of attempting to purge copies of this email.

There is also currently a service degradation impacting Sharepoint and Onedrive for Business. If you are having trouble accessing content on Sharepoint or OneDrive, please try later.

Update: 11/1 3:05 PM - This issue should be resolved.

There is an ongoing issue with users unable to reply to Canvas inbox messages through their email. Canvas has identified that the auto-complete function in the Outlook App is causing this behavior. Turning off the auto-complete in the app resolves this behavior.

In Outlook 2010 / 2013 /2016 / 2019 / Office 365:
File -> Options -> section Mail -> option group: Send messages
deselect: Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, CC and Bcc lines.

This is the only short-term resolution we have until Canvas can enact a long-term resolution.

Here is the latest update on the Centurylink/Canvas issues some users have experienced:

A small number of users are running into page errors when trying to access Canvas. This is the result of a DNS issue from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Although this has since been resolved, some users using specific Internet Service Providers (ISP's) may still be impacted. If you're continuing to see the behavior, resetting the network connection may help remedy the errors. We will monitor the situation and post further updates as they become available.

We have confirmed Centurylink is having issues displaying sites hosting with AWS services. Students/faculty can contact 866-642-0444 for support to get the settings changed for their network and enable access.

We have been made aware of an issue with logins to MyOTC and Canvas from off-campus locations. If you are experiencing this issue, please email the Help Desk with the following information:

Your OTC email address:
A screenshot or the error text of the error you receive.
What you are trying to log into (MyOTC, Canvas, Email, etc...)
What network you are on (i.e. "my home wifi" or "McDonalds" or on my cell phone data).

We will update this page when we have more information.

Update: 2:25 PM - This issue is ongoing, but it appears access is intermittent, sometimes available and sometimes not.

Update: 5:33 PM - We believe this issue may be isolated to the internet service provider Centurylink.

If you are being effected by this issue and have another internet service provider, please contact the Help Desk immediately. If you have a current open ticket but did not include your internet service provider information, please contact the Help Desk to update your ticket. If you are affected by this issue and have Centurylink as your internet service provider, it is recommended you contact their technical support line to report these issues so they can investigate. The more reports they receive of this issue, the faster there may be a resolution.

There is a new version of MyOTC.

  • Financial Aid Federal Shopping Sheet is now called College Financing Plan
  • Students can now see their position on the waitlist for a course.
  • Faculty can now see students wait-listed for a course.

There was an issue where Nelnet (payment plan provider) was unable to communicate with OTC since Friday morning.  The most obvious symptom would be a balance that didn't pull through nelnet or the inability to complete a payment plan sign up. This has been resolved.

Windows 7 End of Life
Microsoft ends support for windows 7 in January 2020. It is recommended you upgrade before then to maintain support with OTC's wifi and online resources, including Office365. You can read more about that here.

Students and Staff can download Windows 10 Education for free from the OTC webstore under MyOTC > Helpful Resources > OTC Web Store

Windows 10 Education Requirements:

We've been made aware of an issue with our single sign on portal. Users not on the OTC campus may currently be affected and unable to sign in. We will update this as soon as it is resolved.

9/19/2019 - 8:50 a.m.

ITPR8373 has been added as an alternate printer to the computers in the Hamra Library. This printer is in the Jared Atrium right outside the library. Please see the Library staff or the IT Service Center personnel next door if you need any help locating or printing to this student printer.


Update: This issue should be resolved. Contact the Help Desk directly at 417-447-7548 if you still cnanot sign in.

We are seeing reports of Single Sign On and Unauthorized Request errors when logging into or navigating MyOTC, Email, and Colleague, among other services. We are currently investigating this high priority issue. We recommend trying periodically as you will likely know it has been resolved more quickly than we can contact all users who are reporting this issue. We will update this section when we believe the issue is resolved.


Update: This issue has been diagnosed and a solution is being implemented. Licensing should be corrected by 10pm on 8/30.

We are currently removing Office 365 licenses for non-active, non-Alumni students. You must have been registered for classes in the last year to retain your Office365 license, including access to your OTC mailbox, sans Alumni accounts, which need to have logged in the last year to retain access to their OTC Mailbox.

Known Issues SP/19

Pearson My Mathlab

Pearson My Mathlab has been intermittently up and down due to an unexpected load on their servers. If your MyMathlab won't load, please try again later.

Accessing Documents for Faculty in Classrooms

Due to a change in the way documents are synced in Classrooms, you will need to go into File Explorer and click on H:\ drive to access your "Documents" folder while you are in class to access your files there.

If you cannot find your Documents in H:\ using these instructions, please reply back to this email to let us know or contact the Help Desk while in class at 447-7548.
