Adobe Acrobat Professional

Adobe licensing is closely monitored and only approved if it's deemed necessary for a job function faculty/staff have. Only full-time faculty and staff can request this software. If you are part-time, please have your closest full-time supervisor request this software for you.

Basic text-and-image PDF files can be created using Microsoft Word. If you're making internal training materials or other PDF files that don't need any special features, please use Microsoft Word to generate the PDFs you're trying to make. You can do this by selecting .PDF as your file type when you Save As... or by printing to PDF using the print dialog in Windows 10. If you need help with this, submit a ticket to the Help Desk or contact them at 417-447-7548.

Adobe Acrobat DC Reader is installed on every computer on campus. This software is not licensed and will allow you to view PDFs and interact with fillable form fields and interactive content already published in the PDF.

Adobe Acrobat DC Professional should ONLY be requested if:

  • You need to create interactive content in your PDF, like fillable form fields.
  • You need the ability to edit already-published PDF files that have interactive content, like fillable form fields.
  • You need to create brochure-quality PDF files that will be public-facing.
  • You need to encrypt your PDF for security.
  • You need Adobe-specific plugins that do certain functions (i.e. Bates Numbering for legal purposes).

Think you might already have a license but aren't sure how to use it? This article will tell you how to sign into Adobe Acrobat DC Professional. If you receive "wrong username or password", please go ahead and submit a request here, and the Help Desk can verify any existing license for you and will reach out to assist you further.
